Bailey Console Table Remix

I’ve recently completed another Pottery Barn Bailey Console Table Replica. A customer wanted one just like the one that’s in our house except less wide. To accommodate the shorter width, I decided to drop one drawer. Another big change was that I used 1″ thick material (except for the tabletop) instead of scrap 2″ thick pieces. The appeal to the first table I built is how shallow it is…..approximately 11″. In our living room, I didn’t want a deep piece of furniture poking out….and for this customer, they also want something to sit closely to the wall.

I used the Ana-White plan, Balin Console Table, as a reference.

The top is has two coats of “Special Walnut,” three coats of “General Arm-R-Seal,” and then two coats of “Briwax-Clear.”

The base and drawers has one coat of primer, two coats of latex paint (sprayed with my HVLP), and three coats of “General Arm-R-Seal.” Before applying the topcoat, I lightly sanded down the edges with 220 grit and used “Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads,” to darken the edges.
