Painting a Chevron Dresser…Again

Well, it wasn’t too long ago that I painted an old dresser with a Chevron pattern on it. If you want the details on how I came up with the pattern and taped it off, check here. The dresser that I used in the tutorial was a little too short for our liking so we sold it to some friends of ours. I had been hoping to replace it with a taller dresser and repaint it the same way….and last weekend I was able to do just that.

At one of our favorite local antique stores we came across a great dresser that was already painted a gray that was similar to our home office. We scooped it up, brought it home, and then I began to tape it off. I forgot the exact method that I used to tape the pattern so I had to look back at my post and make one or two minor adjustments. About 3 hours later (the taping takes FOREVER) and I had my pattern ready to go. I used some flat white paint and rolled it on with an ultra-smooth roller. I did two quick coats and then removed the tape. After a few hours of drying, I topped it off with two coats of Polycrylic, placed the hardware back on, and put the drawers back in. Here’s the finished product;
