Holy Bats!

Holy crap. We have bats in our attic. I wish we were kidding, but we just counted all 30 (yes 30) of them fly out of this attic vent (above) at dusk on Wednesday night.

What we have been assuming was a chronic case of bird poop on our back deck turned out to be, you guessed it….bat poop, or the scientific term “guano.”

I won’t show you a photo of the guano, but I will tell you that it was one thing Lyla would NOT eat off of our back deck.

That should have been our first tip-off right there.

Are you ready to be grossed out? We sure weren’t. Tommy and our friend Drew went up in the attic this afternoon and snapped these photos of our very unwelcome inhabitants.
